History} http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Arcueid_Brunestud
True Ancestors and Dead Apostles exist as two different types of blood sucking creatures known more formally as vampires, however their species goes on a bit deeper than that. In the distant past, the Earth lacked a means to protect itself from Humanity, leading to the god-like being known as the Crimson Moon to descend and create the True Ancestor race. Rather than normal 'vampires' True Ancestors exist as the consciousness of the planet Earth, more akin to elementals of sorts. They could be called comparable to forces of nature such as typhoons and earthquakes, and their strength is more than comparable to that.
While True Ancestors don't require to feed upon a human's blood in order to live, they do possess the continual urge to do so, which is why they use a considerable chunk of their massive power in order to suppress the urge, though it builds over time, leading to eventual downfall. Partaking in the blood sucking ritual is forbidden, as in doing so the Ancestor in question breeds a Dead Apostle; a human given the powers of vampirism. Not only that, the Ancestor falls victim to their psychotic bloodlust, and the Dead Apostle is given a sizable portion of the Ancestor's former power. Arcueid was created as an executioner, as well as the strongest True Ancestor, their Princess. Her job was simple - she was to hunt down the fallen True Ancestors who created Dead Apostles, as well as the Dead Apostles that ran rampant with their new-found powers.
All was good for a time, though the True Ancestors treated Arcueid solely as a weapon to accomplish their goals, and while she was bestowed with a great amount of knowledge pertaining to the world and how it worked, she never experienced any of it for herself, leaving her mind mostly blank and more than easily malleable as a result. One day, a man known as Michael Roa Valdamjong, a former priest of the Church turned
With Roa on the run and Arcueid's powers drained, the True Ancestor chained herself to the throne in which she slept, waiting for the moment she was able to sense Roa's growing power in the outside world, and each time she awoke, she proceeded to stalk him throughout the present time in order to eliminate his existence even though he would only serve to reincarnate years later to repeat the process.
It's not until one day in the present time when Tsukihime's story actually begins with Arcueid being sliced into seventeen pieces by a mysterious young man named Shiki Tohno, who stalked her back to her apartment in order to attack while her guard was down. While the process didn't kill her outright, it put a severe strain on Arcueid's already diminished strength - most of which had already been in the process of being used in order to keep her still growing vampiric bloodlust in check.
While Arcueid is able to put herself back together
It's explained to us that Shiki possesses the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, mystical eyes that allow him to perceive death's "lines" or "stitches" on any living thing, granting him the ability to cut anything he can touch. He also has the blood of a demon hunting clan - the blood of which drove him on to kill Arcueid upon seeing her wandering the town.
Together the two hunt the two Dead Apostles residing in Shiki's town. Nr.. Ner.. Nrvn..
While their romance seems to blossom, Arcueid continually distances herself from Shiki, unable to truly feel at ease with him as she fears her growing bloodlust will lay claim to him, making him into another Dead Apostle as she had unwillingly done to Roa.
The two eventually eliminate Nero and eventually move onto Roa, though Arcueid's condition leaves her in a state of being unable to actually kill him, and eventually she appears to die, leaving Shiki in a rage. He faces off against Roa, eventually getting the better of him using his Mystic Eyes, which returns Arcueid's power, allowing her to reincarnate.
As the two planned, Arcueid meets Shiki in his classroom at sunset only to tell him she's leaving to return to a deep sleep and dream about all of the experiences he's given her, though before he can protest, she's gone.
Later on, Shiki seeks out Castle Brunestud and slices down Arcueid's chains, awakening her. The two spend the rest of their time together hunting the remaining Dead Apostles.
And then there's a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeemaaaaaaaaaaaaakeeee~~!!!! ♥
Personality}
OK so Arc is a ditz
No, really.
Whimsical and naive are both two words that describe her pretty well, as inwardly a lot of her is still pretty childish. Sure, she may know tons about fighting as well as vampires and other nasty things she has to bust up, but really she doesn't know much about the world itself and a lot of common knowledge things. Or, well, she knows of them but not how they work.
When she first began her existence, every time she completed a mission and returned to the Castle Brunestud, her memories were wiped, and while she has a lot of general knowledge, again, she's never really experienced much of it until Shiki came into her life and the two started hanging out.
Honestly, for instance, the first thing she does when she comes across Shiki again after he's killed her once is bear down on him and ask
1.) how in the hell he killed her
and
2.) if he was sorry. While she can be a serious person, especially as far as danger is concerned, a lot of her personality lies in just how childlike she is and how she learns how to live like a normal person. She's also protective of Shiki, but just because she loves him.
Often Arcueid pouts whenever Shiki gets mad at her for doing something awkward or whenever she's laughed at. She can also be hilariously impatient and quick to bore if something doesn't catch and hold her attention for long, though she has taken to human forms of entertainment such as eating and watching movies, both of which are two of her utmost favorite things to do.
One thing Arcueid isn't is lazy - she'll rarely just sit around with nothing to do, even if she's just wandering around outside to see the sights. As most of her life was literally spent sleeping, she believes in seizing the moment whenever possible, making her a handful to deal with whenever she wants to come by.
Another thing she's not is stupid. Sure, she doesn't know a lot about human forms of entertainment and other common knowledge things people usually take for granted, but as far as getting work done and protecting those she cares about is concerned, she's second to none. In a nutshell, she could be described as the 'cloud cuckoolander' of the group of Tsukihime heroines. She has a unique way of going about things and seems to have her head in the clouds, though in reality she's a very (book) smart individual with a constant hunger to experience the world and all it has to offer.
In the past, she loved to think of 'what-if' scenarios simply because her life and way of existing was set in stone, so she'd wonder about all sorts of things, and it's not until near the end of Tsukihime that Shiki realizes that Arcueid loves all sorts of things others take as meaningless because she's never experienced them for herself.
Arcueid isn't one to get mad often, though when she does her whimsical and naive nature vanishes, leaving her very straight to the point, that said, she isn't quick to hold grudges either - afterall, she ended up loving the man who almost killed her. She also takes the issue of her vampirism extremely seriously, so something like losing control over her powers is something that's honestly quite scary for her, but whenever she does lose it and turn into Warcueid, whomever she's angry with is in for some serious trouble.
Abilities}
╬Claws: Pretty self explanatory, Arcueid doesn't use any sort of conventional weapons, just what she was gifted with from birth. Her hands normally appear normal, but she can unsheathe her nails into terrifying vampiric claws capable of shredding through steel. There isn't much she can't cut through, and she fights primarily by using these.
╬Enhanced Physical Prowess: As expected from a True Ancestor, Arcueid possesses inhuman speed, strength, agility and performance overall in comparison to that of even an abnormally powerful and or skilled human.
╬Mystic Eyes of Enchantment: Arcueid's eyes, when glowing golden, are capable of inducing high level hypnosis on those of weaker willpower.
╬Regeneration: Vampires naturally regenerate their wounds at an extremely advanced rate, and this process is increased under the light of the Moon while actually rendering Arcueid invincible underneath the Full Moon. As such, during the night, Arcueid is near invulnerable. As demonstrated in 'Tsukihime' Arc can also regenerate from being severed into pieces, though that takes energy and time, so she can be 'killed', technically, though not for long.
╬Conceptual Weapon Immunity: Basically a weapon designed to create more than mere physical damage. Instead, conceptual weapons cause a 'predetermined phenomenon'. They are made to 'directly crush the soul with a concept on a spiritual plane and affect space with semantics and logic' These were developed by the Church for the purpose of eliminating vampires, though Arcueid has built up a resistance to these. Conceptual Weapons originating from South America still have an effect on her as she hasn't built up a tolerance to those yet.
╬Origin of All/Counter Force: Being the consciousness of the Earth, Arcueid is capable of gathering energy from it at will, instantaneously kicking her battle performance and strength approximately one level higher than that of her opposition. The energy she draws from is virtually unlimited.
╬Millennium Castle Brunestud: As she is the strongest True Ancestor, Arcueid is one of two potential candidates for the inheritor of the Crimson Moon's resurrection, an event that would grant Arcueid powers untold. That day has yet to come, however. Because of the power she holds, Arc is able to summon up the image of the Millennium Castle Brunestud with the help of her Reality Marble.
╬Marble Phantasm: The Marble Phantasm is no doubt Arcueid's most frightening ability. It allows her to seal her opponent in a Reality Marble (Pocket Dimension) before summoning up whatever she can imagine in order to attempt to kill her opponent. While she can't manifest something as broad as "a way to kill my enemies" she can dream up just about anything she wishes in order to accomplish her goal. As she is constantly limited however, it isn't at it's fullest potential.
╬Bloodlust & Suppression: Ever since drinking Roa's blood, Arcueid has been consumed by a constant bloodlust that haunts her to this day. Because of it, she's forced to apply a large portion of her powers into suppressing this trait. By sheer willpower she holds off the beast sealed within her mind, though as time goes on, her bloodlust continues to grow. One day the dam will break.
Baggage} Bare essentials, a few of her favorite movies.
Notes} I've listed Arcueid's servant stats in my intro post to the test meme (and promptly forgot to include her special abilities/noble phantasm), though I'm open to moderation telling me if anything should be different. Arc's still super strong even though her Servant form is considerably gimped, so if anything needs to be fixed, let me know please and I'll adhere to the suggestions! It should also be noted that some more of her OP abilities, such as the Conceptual Weapon Immunity and the extent of her Regeneration aren't as hax as they would be in her actual canon for obvious reasons. Still, if there's something in specific that needs to be addressed, I'm fully aware of her power scale and am equally willing to tone her down as the moderation would like to see fit.
